Trevor Patient story

More on...

An infected skin tear was affecting his golf game, but with the help of Acticoat* Moisture Control, Trevor was back in the swing.

Trevor is an energetic 94-year-old who enjoys his weekly game of golf along with some fishing and gardening activities. Whilst undertaking his daily duties Trevor suffered a number of skin tears, most of which healed in a normal time frame. Unfortunately one of the skin tears on his arm moved into a hypergranulating state and then became infected, and after four months was still not progressing.

A planned wound excision could not be performed due to the patient's blood pressure, and Elizabeth Dudai-Rowley - the Practice Nurse at the local Greenwich Village Medical Centre - elected to use the new Acticoat Moisture Control dressing to treat the wound (using a paper tape for retention). Trevor's wound responded very quickly, healing within two weeks and avoiding the need for surgical intervention.

Trevor is now back in the swing and able to enjoy a round of golf without any concerns for his wound.
