The mother of two arrived after having been treated with Acticoat* silver dressings from Smith & Nephew.
She had suffered 85% burns, but had been quickly treated. Her burns were covered with a temporary skin substitute. Within 48 hours of treatment, she was free from her burn tissue. The temporay skin substitute was gradually exchanged for skin grafts, and Acticoat dressings were used to dress the wounds. Within a month the staff were confident that she was healed and she was discharged.
